Bauhaus Furniture
Bauhaus Furniture
Bauhaus furniture is something of a lowest common denominator for friends of sophisticated design: everyone finds it tasteful, the attribute timeless is undisputed. Anyone who places a Breuer armchair or a Corbusier lounger in their home is certainly considered an aesthete.

In their plain, simple form, Bauhaus products are a design revolution. Form is completely subordinate to functionality, or in other words: "form follows function". Many of the products developed by the Bauhaus, both in their original form and in their further development, are still an integral part of many households today, such as the cantilever chair, the Wagenfeld lamp or the Bauhaus wallpaper.

Description
The LC2 is one of the most famous armchairs in the world. With its sober design, it stands for education, culture and success. It is no coincidence that the cube-shaped classic can be found in renowned law firms and companies. The literary quartet also sat on LC2 armchairs on television for many years to talk shop about poetry and reading.
The LC2 was designed in 1928 by the Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier. The armchair consists of four box-shaped cushions held in shape by a tubular steel frame. The side sections are square, while the seat and backrest are rectangular. The result is an accurate cube.
The frame of this classic chair consists of an elaborately bent tubular steel frame in chrome. The leather cushions are filled with polyurethane foam and Dacron wadding. The seat of the LC2 is also padded with down feathers for optimum comfort.
